Marvel’s AGENT CARTER Renewed for 2nd Season? Sources Say… YES!

We’re glad to have been the first to bring you the news, which has now also been confirmed by The Hollywood Reporter

“Meanwhile, Agent Carter — from writing duo Michele Fazekas and Tara Butters — will return for a second season. The Captain America: The First Avenger spinoff is Marvel’s first female-driven entry. The drama opened to strong reviews — THR chief TV critic Tim Goodman said “Marvel and ABC finally get it right” — and soft viewership. The eight-episode series averaged 5 million total viewers and a 1.8 in the demo — and almost doubling its returns when factoring in seven days of DVR viewing.
The decision to renew Carter comes as Fazekas and Butters will see second year drama Resurrection get the ax. The duo told THR that they envisioned multiple seasons for the short-order drama, with the season ending with a slight cliffhanger. It shows a commitment on ABC and Marvel’s part to let the series grow.”

Researching for an upcoming Nerdy Minds feature on Agent Carter, we stumbled across the following news regarding Agent Carter‘s Season 2 renewal via a search results preview on google,

“TV Buzz: ‘Agent Carter’ to Return for 2015-16 — What Else Will Be Picked Up? | Variety Despite rumors, Variety has learned “Agent Carter” will be back for a second season, consisting of eight episodes, on ABC…”

Of course since Variety is a legitimate news site, we immediately clicked through to find nothing of the sort at that url… Confused, we changed our research focus to this! The only other result we found was another preview with the exact same quote and link to the exact same page when embedded via one woman’s tweet on

Now honestly I’m unsure of if we somehow hacked the universe and got this news before it happened or what exactly is going on here… but we know what we saw, and it’s exactly what we’ve been hoping for! #RenewAgentCarter!
