Marvel’s AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. versus DC Comics’ iZOMBIE, Tuesdays at 9/8c

It’s clash of the ratings yet again as Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. goes up against another comic-based television show (DC/Vertigo Comics’ iZombie from Rob Thomas of Veronica Mars) invading its time slot. Before it was the CW’s The Flash (also DC) whose extended premiere walked all over the first few minutes of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. The newcomer, though, sits in the same time slot as S.H.I.E.L.D., ruining any chance of watching both that night. iZombie, also airing on the CW, hits TVs everywhere next Tuesday and stars Yellow Power Ranger (RPM)/Tinkerbell (OUAT) Rose McIver as a med student-turned-zombie who works in a morgue and eats the brains of the deceased to stay alive – which is when things get fun as she gains a whole lot more than sustenance when her man-turned-murder victim-turned-dinner’s memories offer insight into the local law’s homicide investigations. (Rob Thomas sure does dig this whole “blonde girls solving crimes” thing – hello, Veronica Mars  – and we sure aren’t complaining!)
Despite the game-changing Season One twist in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., the series has had trouble maintaining the ratings it hoped for after many viewers simply stopped watching when the first few episodes weren’t Marvel Cinematic caliber. Season Two looked to be stepping up with the introduction of the Inhumans and the return of everyone’s favorite Asgardian (after Thor), Lady Sif. Still, can the show hold up against a show created by the mind behind Veronica Mars and featuring appearances from the likes of David Anders and Judy Reyes?

As much as we love AoS and have stayed faithful through the ups and downs, we’re at least going to give it a break to watch the premiere of iZombie before deciding for sure who gets a permanent place in our already crowded Tuesday night. What will you be doing this Tuesday at 9/8c?
(Please share this post on your social media channels to remind your friends that there’s a choice to made this week and for the foreseeable future of Tuesday nights…)
