The Last of Us LIVE? FOR FREE??? Yes, seriously. Sony has revealed that, for one night only, you can see the amazingly talented Troy Baker (Joel) and Ashley Johnson (Ellie) re-enact Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us LIVE! Merle Dandridge (Marlene), Hana Hayes (Sarah), and Annie Wersching (Tess) will also be a part of this magic. All this under the direction of Neil Druckmann (TLOU writer/director). And if that’s not enough, Gustavo Santaolalla (composer) will be there to bring the music from the game to life right in front of us!
One Night Live will highlight the artistry behind The Last of Us with a live reading of select scenes by the principal actors, under the direction of Neil Druckmann from Naughty Dog. Scheduled to appear are Troy Baker, Ashley Johnson, Merle Dandridge, Hana Hayes, and Annie Wersching. In addition, Academy Award winning composer Gustavo Santaolalla will perform selections from his score. How this all fits together will remain a bit of a mystery until it happens, but trust me when I say it will be a very special evening.
It seems the lot of you (of us) are ridiculously excited to see this happen, as tickets to see this happen in person have sold out in the time it took us to find out about the event and put it into writing here. But you can still watch it “live” via Twitch, YouTube, or PSN’s Live Event Viewer on July 28th (yes, in a week).
