When it was announced that Ben Affleck is our new Batman, fan-boys (and -girls) weren’t exactly ecstatic…and the bromance that is Ben Affleck and Matt Damon quickly fed the joke/rumor mill:
“Also starring Matt Damon as Robin!”
I’m not gonna lie, folks. I love the Ben and Matt bromance as much as the next Kevin Smith fan, but even more perfect would be…the butt of every celebrity joke as the butt of every superhero joke:
“Also starring Matt Damon as Aquaman.”
And that may be just what we get! It was just confirmed that the Justice League movie is happening with Zack Snyder at the helm and is set for a 2017/2018 release date. Zack Snyder is quoted as saying, “One casting rumor that has been circulating around Hollywood for more than a year is that Affleck’s close friend and collaborator Matt Damon is being sought to play Aquaman, though to be fair, Jason Momoa has also been rumored for that role (among others), and he is expected to appear in ‘Batman vs. Superman’ in some unknown capacity.” So it’s all rumors for now…but this longstanding rumor (and supporting facts) are adding up all too (not so?) perfectly.
Also starring Henry Cavall as Superman, Gal Gaddot as Wonder Woman, and Ray Fisher as Cyborg.
