“got a nerdy mind?” Post-Halloween Costume Contest Alert! (Through November)

Halloween is the one day a year that all of our non-nerdy-minded friends join us in the great fun of cosplay! But alas, it’s back to the time of year in which those with nerdy minds are the only ones donning costumes. Got a nerdy mind? Of course you do! If you’re like us, you look for any excuse to don your favorite costume (or to craft a new one), so we present to you… the first ever “got a nerdy mind?” costume contest!

There’s literally no reason not to enter. These prizes are totally awesome, and Nerdy Minds Magazine even pays shipping! Not to mention, I look for any excuse to dress in costume…

You’re welcome to cosplay anything your nerdy mind so desires… be it from Sci-Fi television shows, horror films, video games, anime, or any of the number of things over which you geek out. But there’s one more thing you’ve got to do… It’s as easy as pulling out a marker and writing four words, “got a nerdy mind?“! So get dressed up and show us that you do. Listed below are the complete rules and details.

1. Don your favorite costume! Raid your costume chest, or craft a new one. You will be judged on your costume, but you will also be judged on creativity and locale (Buffy in a graveyard will fare better than Buffy in the kitchen). Low budget and “everyday” costumes are okay too! It doesn’t have to involve hundreds of dollars spent and body paint, etc.

2. Have your picture taken with the phrase “got a nerdy mind?” somewhere in the shot. The easiest method would be holding up a piece of paper, but this is where creativity comes in (if you’re Spider-Man and you somehow spin a web displaying this phrase, your spidey sense should tell you that you’ve majorly upped your chances of winning).

3. Share our Facebook post linking to the contest and post the picture to the Nerdy Minds Facebook page, or tweet the picture with the phrase,

4. We begin accepting entries today, and we’ll accept them through November 30th. Winners will be selected shortly thereafter.

5. Reap nerdy prizes! Several prizes will be offered. The winner(s) will get to choose his or her prizes from the below:

• Mjölnir (replica Thor hammer) 

• Harry Potter mugs (donated by Season of the Geek – See the example submission photo above for backside of the mug)

  

• “got a nerdy mind?” bumper stickers and shirts
• 1lb bag of special Nerdy Minds flavored coffee (donated by Ferra Coffee)
• A signed print-copy of Stalker (comic issue #1, donated by creator at Sunday-Superheroes)

As a quick re-cap, the most important details are as follows: Don a costume, include the phrase “got a nerdy mind?“, share our post and post your picture to our Facebook wall, and/or tweet it at us with the following text (and only the following text–no adding/changing words–only add the link to your pic at the end, which, if you use the camera button in the tweet, should fit perfectly within the 140 character limit), and reap nerdy prizes!
